The Gloria Mass is almost done in rough form, nine movements for SSAATTBB chorus and piano. Any comments appreciated. Now, just one more movement to finish and then polishing and score formatting....

Hello Karen,
With great pleasure, I have just finished listening to the latest
version (I think)... ~30:02 length. (Good Friday, an appropriate
day to listen).
Bravo!
You're well on your way to a magnificent work, my friend!
And I understand how exhausting a work of this scale and
scope can be. Get in there and battle it out to keep the
quality of the writing... this is going to be a knock-out in
live performance!
With admiration,
David

Hi Karen,
This is quite an excursion, and you've pulled it off SO well! Do I hear you taking more chances?? Yippee!! I love the way you take ethereality into some pretty dark, unexpected corners. Great stuff!
Good luck on your score prep (I know what a pain it is!!).
Your talent is shining brightly through on this; looking forward the the completed version.
Danny
Thank you so much, my dear friends!! This one has certainly possessed and exhasted me altogether and i just realized I lied unwittingly -- I have more than one to finish -- two, I think, one of which is pounding me flat -- happily -- just now!
Dave, just downloaded yr piece listed here -- will listen soon.
Thanks both, I needed a boost lately, and this is it!
Karen

This is by far your best writing to date, Karen; in both
conception and execution -- that alone would be an
achievement. But you've also crossed the barriers
of risk with a piece that is, too, moving and listenable.
Stay with it, Karen. Hold on course!
My best,
David

I am listening while I write this.....You amaze me.......your very deep impressionistic personallity (and I mean that in a positive way because all great composers were I think) and your honesty and integrity really come to the surface in this work.....I have been listening to your works now for a better part of a year now and I cannot believe just how much improvement I keep hearing each time you present us with a new one, it is staggering......I remember when I was in college watching ( and hearing ) certin artists really develop over the 4 years.....this for me is kind of the same thing and I have to tell you I very much enjoy it.........
Thank you for sharing with us.......
We are truly the benafactors in this.......
Keep on course.......

And CLIFF!!! Wow! How great to have you show up again!! How ARE you, guy? Been sending good wishes your way! Thank you for your very kind words.
Thank you both for listening.

Karen

Karen,
I am listening as I write. I may not be able to finish all 30 minutes, but felt I had to day something before I get to the whole work. The breadth and drama here are wonderful. You have not held back, but neither have you simply rushed headlong - it is a very controlled, and passionate voice that you have developed.
I hope you have success in hearing this performed; it deserves to be heard by live players and singers.
I'm looking forward to listening where I leave off. But for now, thanks for sharing this.
And, the sparkles in your hair are a nice touch!![]()
This is developing very well. The piano is really holding up it's end now.
This will be a totally different piece with real choral singers. I wish I could be there to hear it.

I dropped you on your head when you were a baby- My ex-aunt Peggy's recent confession. Possibly one of those life changing events.
