    Smile "Doodlebug"

    Y'all,

    Here is my "Doodlebug".

("Doodlebug" is the common name for the insect Antlion ("Ant Lion") As a child, I remember watching this predator (in the larval stage) build traps in the sand in which it snared ants and then devoured them.)

I first posted it over a year ago. Since then I have revamped and remixed it.

All instruments - GPO sample library.
    Software sequencer - Sonar 7.
    Sample player - Kontakt 3.

    Regards to all,

    Hey Larry,

This isn't nearly as scary as a real Doodlebug!

In fact, there's no way I could enjoy encountering one of these the way I always enjoy your music... including this piece! I particularly liked the way the pizz strings kind of danced all the way through this; I could picture a busy insect (devouring ants??) accompanied by those playful strings.

I missed this one before, so I'm certainly glad I caught it this time. As somewhat of a coincidence, I'm off to do yardwork for the day... I just hope I don't run across any crawling doodlebugs. YOUR Doodlebug was a great way to start the day, though! Thanks for posting this little delight, Larry!

    Thumbs up Re: "Doodlebug"

    Larry:
You've hurt my pride. I can't think of a better name for this. Delightful.
I do so appreciate the little key shift toward the end, so you see it doesn't take much to make me happy. Maybe not Mozart, but shades of LeRoy Anderson.

Sorry to hurt yore pride, you old re-namer you.

I rather enjoy writing 'kicker' music like this from time to time.

As always, I appreciate your response, Mr. Steve. I hope that you and the Missus are in good health.

    My Best,

    Re: "Doodlebug"

Your Doodlebug was an uplifting listen and a toe tapper to boot.

It's a pretty mean and ugly looking bug even for a bug.

Again, I enjoyed your music sir.
