Stunning work, Dan!
Grusin writes beautiful stuff, and you're realization of this theme is absolutely "spot-on". Just gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
You've reinforced your status as "the master" once again with this!("attention to detail"

Thanks for bringing this gem to the forum (bet you couldn't wait!). The Steinway sounds incredible, as everyone is now discovering thanks to you and the other demo guys.

P.S. Were the birdie parts written, or were they just winging it???![]()

You don't surprise me, but may I say that you often delight in unexpected ways?
Your renderings are always artistic . . . and yet there are often those very special pieces where your art shines even more brightly than usual. In this instance I'm dismissing the mixing/mastering because without the phrasings and articulations you chose the rest wouldn't matter. Truly masterfully performed.
"On Golden Pond" just set me back and relaxed me--"centered" me without my even thinking about "letting go." Thank you for a nice space.

Absolutely gorgeous job on this, Dan -- you've got
the golden touch on material like this, and the
Steinway just sings in your hands with it, my friend.
One of my all-time favorites, too, Dan. Thank you
for this one... I could listen to this all night long.
And maybe I will, too.
Always my best,
David

Dan this is inspiring.
What else can I say?
I know:
Thank you!
Beautifully done, Dan. As always, but needs saying, nonetheless: you are a master!
Dan, your work always puts a smile on me face. Very nice!
Another testimony of how awesome GPO sounds at the hand of a master.
Absolutely awesome, Dan. Doesn't get much better than
this. Dave would be proud to hear this rendition of such
a beautiful arrangement and melody.

What have they done to your ears, GPO friends?
Steinway sounds absolutely fastastic.
But why the hell do you blend such a great instrument with a low budget orchestra?
The sound of the orchestra is (regarding the quality) in this example milesstones away from the piano.
And this drops the whole piece down!
Sorry!

This sets the bar for all of us. I knew it was possible, just not quite within my reach yet.
A masterful job
