Post Authorized Steinway - Quirky Blues

Here's a fun bluesy piece W. Michael Jaap did using the "Under the Lid" perspective.

    Enjoy!

I think this is the first “non-classical” music I’ve heard from the Steinway. Sounds great. The dryer under-the-lid perspective works perfect for this. And what a fun composition…

I am always looking for Bluesy tunes to jam along with on the guitar. This is a neat one. It also shows the versatility of the new Steinway.

this is the first steinway demo I've heard and wooooooooooow! thats nice! wish i could afford one of those ... and had the time time to write something like this! (If I could!)

one question, is it possible to lower the damper volume? Just it seems to me like I keep hearing the same sample in the background of the dampers...or was each damper sampled individually in proper hardcore Garritan fashion?!

still, sounds fantastic! congrats to Garritan!

Cool quirky blues, Michael, liked it.

And as anyone will attest, I know quirky... lol!

    Nice job on it!

Great! What a perfect way to show off the Steinway beyond it's obvious possibilities. Loved the voicings in this.

This "Quirky Blues" was recorded on Monday, this week. Mike came over to my studio and I had him play a variety of improvisations in different genres during a 3 hour session - nothing was prepared in advance, we didn't even discuss what was to be played until the session started. I've played gigs with Mike for over 25 years and he is a very versatile and creative musician. He also has a great, clever sense of humor (which comes through nicely in this blues!) We'll post more of Mike's work from this and other sessions in the future.
