    Aria GUI

So far, I love everything about this new undertaking by Gary and his team. Outstanding job in every way from the packaging to the manual to the instrument itself. It is great!

I have a question I hope someone can answer for me. I have significant vision difficulties and am wondering if there is a way to increase the size of the Aria GUI? I was really happy when NI made this possible with the KP2 player. Is this possible now or can it be implemented in a future update? It would certainly make it a lot easier on these tired old eyes.

    Again, I love this library!

Hi Jerry, there are a few things that are going to be changed in the first update, I believe being able to change the size of the GUI is one of them.
I agree with you, my eyes aren't getting any better either.

For those who use a Mac, there is a similar feature built in to Tiger and Leopard. Just mouse over the place that you want to magnify, hold down the command and option keys and press "=" to zoom in and "-" to zoom out. You can customize aspects of this in the System Preferences/Universal access window. You can also turn your computer into black and white so the text might stand out more.

    Re: Aria GUI

    Hi There

As you might be aware all Aria UIs are fully skinable, and it would be possible to do a bigger
GUI for it, if needed, without requiring reprogramming, or software updates!

Its all open-ended XML and PNG files!, and non encrypted in this folder:
    C:\Program Files\Garritan\Steinway\GUI

Resources are stretched thin at this point, but i could assume at one point a wiki
could be made about it for skin makers. Also there is no mechanism to easily
switch skins on the fly. Its currently a "replace folder" job,

We are also working to have text-only parameter controllers so that we can provide blind text readers with data it can understand more easily, but its an on going thing.

    Cheers!

    Re: Aria GUI

We have been in touch and working with blind musicians to address their concerns with making music programs more accessible for the visually impaired. A text-based GUI that readers can understand will make it easier for the blind to interface with ARIA. We are also exploring other interface technologies.

As David mentions, ARIA is skinnable, so new GUIs could be developed. We are looking to some of the interfaces users will be making.

We're just at the starting gate.
