    "Horn Quartet Number Five"

    Horn Lovers,

This is my "Horn Quartet Number Five". It is the middle section of a rather extensive work.

I first posted this in "rough" form fifteen months ago. Since then I have done extensive rewriting, including reharmonizations and have done a remix.

    Regards,

    Larry:
Now this is more like it! Very nice rendering and those horn sounds
    are great.
I don't know about the original but I like this harmonization. I would like to hear more long
phrases in place of some of those short "choppy" ones.
Let's hear it for those of us that have a lot of brass!

    let's hear some more horns!!

I'm pleased that you liked it. You obviously are a horn player yourself. Thanks for your comments.

I haven't "Garritanized" all of my other horn quartets yet. They are still in MIDI form. I will convert them to sampled instruments when I can. One of my other horn compositions, "The Horns Are Coming...The Horns Are Coming", is on Page 3 of my music website at http://www.alexandermusic.com

With -- well, just about everyone else, I guess... lol -- I liked
the harmonization and the somber, almost chorale-like use of
the horns in this, Larry. Nice work on this, my friend.

Well, Mr. Larry, you can count me in as another horn lover! LOL!

This, of course, is FINE WRITING! It's just great horn writing, Mr. Larry!

I appreciate the work that you put into the sequencing (rendering) as well. I know that it can be a lot of work. The dynamic and expression is very evident and well worth the effort.

You and your compositions are some of the many reasons why I visit this happy bulletin board. I know that I can find a variety of great music here!

By the way. . . I quickly checked out your (new??? is it new???) web site, Mr. Larry! By golly, you have a rather extensive collection of elephants! LOL! If I had them, I'd share my collection of donkeys for all to see. Unfortunately, the only donkey that exists is found in my heart. LOL!

Seriously, though, you have a very nice collection of figurines and pictures, there. Very cool, Mr. Larry!

As always, it's a pleasure listening to your work! Thank you for sharing. And Happy Composing to you, Mr. Larry!
