    Bach - In Dulci Jubilo for Sax Quartet using CMB

    This is one of the more unusual works by Bach, "In Dulci Jubilo" BWV608 and noted as "In Canone all Ottava". The canonical theme shared between the first and fourth voice with the second and third voice performing a lovely variant of the theme from within.

    In this setting I rendered it using Finale 2006 and the CMB solo soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. The result is as follows;

    Enjoyed the listen, Gary; another fine addition to
    your ever-expanding literature of transcriptions
    for the saxes.

    Looking forward to a live performance, my friend;
    any on the horizon?

    Always my best,

    Thanks for listening as always David and your kind comments. There is no immediate live performances of my music probably until fall. But I will keep you informed when it happens.

    I love Bach's lesser known work and it is great to hear someone do a rendition of this. This is really nicely done, Gary. Thanks for the effort and for sharing it with us.

    Paul,

    I am glad that you enjoyed this work. Yes it certainly is a lesser known work on a well known theme. The CMB saxes work well on it and provide a good preview as to what a live performance could sound like.
