    Route 66 Garritan Steinway

    Hi all,

First mp3 to post up. Just thought I'd throw something up here, quick and dirty. It's more or less kind of a stride version of Route 66. Recorded in one take into Logic, with just a bit of convolution reverb and some Linear EQ added within Logic. No overdubs, klinkers and all.

    Route 66

Oh, this was the under the lid version, no soft pedal. I'm still trying to get my keyboard (SL-990 Pro) and the velocity curves to match up. Getting closer, but still not quite there.

    Welcome to the fray, Tom!

I thoroughly enjoyed this. We're hearing a lot
of Classical and Romantic material; but not much
from other venues; so this is a breath of fresh
    air.

Heck of a fine job on this. I'm quite impressed
with the playing and the overall sound on it.
Under Lid is a favorite for me, too, when you
need real bite and cutting power -- and for
    this material? It's perfect.

    Well done!

    My best,

    Wecome to the Forum.

What a great piece to introduce yourself with. I wish I could play like that.

I have driven a lot of route 66 and enjoyed it as much as I did this piece.

    Well done!

    Tom,

A warm welcome to the forum. You certainly know how to make an entrance!

This is a fun piece and you've done a marvelous job. You are a one-take wonder! It feels like I'm sitting next to you while you're playing it.

If it's okay with you I would like to post this on the Steinway Demo page. Could you email and let me know?

Thanks for sharing this with us.

    Best,

Thanks, all for the kind words, everybody. Honestly, with all the amazing music I've heard on this forum, I almost didn't post this.

And Gary, of course you are more than welcome to use the mp3 on the Steinway site.

As I've mentioned, the Garritan Steinway is the first virtual instrument I've sat in front of and have been actually inspired to play.

    Tom,

Excellent playing and rendering here! Enjoyed this a lot. I'd swear this was an actual Steinway, lol.
