    Fats Waller tunes on Steinway

Hi, I have been amusing myself with the stand alone version of the GASP, loading standard MIDI files and seeing how the Steinway handled them. I found these in a collection of MIDI's made from old piano rolls. I believe these are of Fats Waller himself playing his music. They use the Under the Lid perspective with the Ballroom 1 ambience.

These show off the stride piano capabilities of the Steinway. Enjoy!

    bigears,

    These sound terrific.

Amazing how well the piano rolls sounded converted to MIDI and played back with the Steinway.

I wish I could use these on our demo page. but since they were written in the 1920's they probably are not public domain.

    Thanks for posting these.

    Best,

    Gary

John, you sure did these up proud!

I'm an old Fats Waller fan (who isn't) -- thoroughly
enjoyed these. The G.Steinway sound is fantastic
with them... great job on the rendering!

Thanks Gary and David, These are just a lot of fun. I know the tempos on these are crazy, but I was hoping to convey a little of the player piano mechanical sound into these and also the "wackiness" of that era. John

I enjoyed these John, especially Honeysuckle Rose. The Steinway comes over very well - most enjoyable.

This is just one more reason why I want to buy the new piano for myself.

    Well done

These sound great. Very enjoyable listen.

You said something about crazy tempo, but this sounds pretty close to how I’m used to hearing them.
