The guy is cool! No question about it

I have seen such an instrument several yeras back. The body was made from wood, and I have tried to play it.
I think they have in here in the local shop, and it has a name as well - I just can not recall it. Yeah, like a flute body with clarinet mouthpiece. The sound is somehow very warm!

I'm definitely going to try making one of those - though I'm not sure what the shelf life is!

I did something similar to demonstrate how instruments work, as part of a show for Art's Week at my daughter's school earlier in the year. A trombone mouthpiece, a length of garden hose and a plastic funnel also makes a great French Horn!

Notes on playing your Carrot Clarinet:

    - You must start every tune on the root note.

    - You may need to alter the notes of well-known tunes in order to play these on your Carrot Clarinet - the new version is called an 'Orangement'.

    - Good first tunes for jazz enthusiasts to try are:
    "My Bunny Valentine"
    "The Way You Cook Tonight"
    "Mad About The Boil"
    "Love For Kale"
"Peas Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone"
    "It Ain't Nece-Celery So"
    ...and anything by Art Pepper.

    - If your Carrot Clarinet tends to squeak, simply check for leeks.

    ....I'll get my coat...
