    Lounge Lizard

A brief flight of nonsense with an unusual quintet.

    Hi Gary,

Well, since nonsense is my favorite genre, I had to give this a listen. And wonderful little bit of nonsense it is!

Great combo of instruments, very playful in all aspects -- melodically/harmonically/rhythmically, and skillfully put together in a nicely-done rendering.

Definitely one of my favorites of yours... thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for listening, Danny.
This was more strict in form than I usually follow. Most of this came from the first statement. No additions until the end in short statements.

    Gary,

This made me smile from the first note!
    Quite unique and effective idea!
Thanks for a first piece enjoyed this early morning...

    Nonsense? Nonsense! Loved it!

A great little piece of whimsy, here, Gary -- thoroughly
    enjoyable.

    Re: Lounge Lizard

    Thanks for listening, David.
This is actually an extension of my original post.
I presume that the lack of comment from most listeners can be tied to a lack of any melody evident in the 1st 2/3rds of the piece. That's good to confirm.
My goal was about creating a mood...

    Gary,

Curious little work, nicely done. Certainly the aspects of a lizard are present.

Since I have fond memories of a few Lounge Lizards, (free ones, that is), I must say that I enjoyed this.

    Well done

    Re: Lounge Lizard

    Thanks for listening, Gary.
A title can do a lot of things for a song-not all of them good..
This piece was an exercise of working at discipline of an idea.
It seemed to evolve into a fun piece, thus a fun name.

    Thanks for listening, Ron.
When I was teaching, a "lounge Lizard was a teacher who spent a LOT of time in the lounge-which once again nothing to do with this piece.
