    Rachmaninoff Plays Bizet

"During his lifetime, Rachmaninoff made a number of transcriptions of other composers’ works. Below are three of them for piano solo, and the best thing about these midis, is that it is Rachmaninoff himself at the piano! The files derive from original recordings made by Rachmaninoff on Piano Paper Rolls. These rolls have been converted into Midi File format by Terry Smythe. Some small edits have been made to the original scans of the piano rolls, by Eric Halstead, to make the files sound best on the Yamaha Clavinova Piano."

It is just amazing what you can find on the internet. Here is a rendering of the MIDI file referred to above. Rachmaninoff himself playing Bizet's "Minuet from L'Arlesienne Suite No. 1"

I found this interesting and thought others might want to hear it. Rendered by the G.A. Steinway in Under Lid mode.

    Keith,

This is cool! Listening to Rachmaninoff. How cool is that? The man had a serious staccato, lol. Great find. Wonder if there are any Busoni MIDIs out there?

    Very cool

    where did you find it?
I have his piano roll/midi of his Gmin prelude and Bumble Bee

I have the Windows in Time CD set. Which are converted piano rolls performances, one of him playing himself, the other playing others.
I would love to get my hands on all the midi files (I'm a huge Rach fan)

I know there are also converted piano rolls by Scriabin, but I have yet to find any.

    Keith,

Yes it is amazing what one can find on the internet. This is a great rendering of this classic work performed by a classic pianist. The Garritan Steinway really makes it shine. Thanks for sharing it with us.
