    OT: German champions

OK, no samples used in this production, but have a look at this:

    Re: OT: German champions

I feel like I'm being cheated out of the real stuff. I mean, there's a guy holding the world's smallest ukelele (or guitar?). Does that mean it featured in his original audition? Can you imagine, tone deaf George Formby songs...

    Re: OT: German champions

I think the ending is the best part. It goes from individual mediocrity to collective cacophony. Bizarro Ives.

Interestingly enough, lately I've been referring to America as being a bunch of bad karaoke singers - everybody assumes they are a champion, nobody doubts themself enough to listen to what's actually coming out. Intended or not, for me, this video is pretty much a performance piece.

And you gotta love that slapback.

    Re: OT: German champions

It is really cruel. They selectively invited the worst singers out of a big number of candidates. These took their chance to get into TV and yet could not help making laughing sticks out of them.

The responsible persons knew exactly what would happen.
