OT: Mac and PC Internet Network Question

    Hey everyone,

I have a quick (I hope, quick) question. I have a Mac G5 and want to connect to the internet through my Gateway Laptop. The laptop has a wireless connection. Does anyone know if this is possible? How can I do this?

You would usually need to connect through your router but it's possible to set up a proxy server on the laptop and connect that way. I've done this in Windoze but dunno about macs.

Thumbs up Re: OT: Mac and PC Internet Network Question

Internet connection sharing via a PC is much slower and less reliable than a straight connection from your MAC to a hub, or a wireless router. These can be purchased for ~$30.00, then you can hook your MAC up reliably either with a cable, or if you MAC has a wireless card, wirelessly. You will get better speeds and reliability than with the Internet connection sharing PC configuration.
