    "In den Gärten Yeti" (Deutschrock/kosmichemusik)

    Hey everybody:

After several months of virtually no time for musicmaking, I've finally started to get back on track.

Most recently, as a kind of side project, I've been working on a number of songs — of various styles/genres — created using only the "free" instruments bundled with GS4, and processing the sounds using only GigaPulse and the other (NFX) effects native to GS4, as well as basic CC data (expression, modwheel, pitch wheel, etc.) editing in Cubase.

These pieces, I think, stand nicely on their own as songs... but they also show what can be done using nothing more than what comes out of the GS4 box (and, of course, one's DAW/sequencer app).

From time to time, I'll post some examples... here's the first one:

It's a luscious throwback to the Deutschrock / kosmichemusik of the early '70s...

...summoning a dazed a luminous world populated by the ghosts of Popol Vuh and Amon Düül 2... Hope you like...

    Alan

I quite like this for some reason.

It reminds me of a bunch of us sitting on the floor in 1969 - basically brain dead - watching Van der Graaf Generator perform.

Very interesting and thank you very much.
