    The ARIA engine thread

    Hi

Since the SFZ thread became a "can ARIA do this?" thread i created another one.
Please post any questions regarding ARIA here.

    Thanks

    Ok,

Will be ARIA able to host external vst&vsti fx?

by one side it would be very handy, but i guess that it will increase the problems and tech support demand (why this or that plugin dont run, etc, etc)

What about the linux version of ARIA? will be it a normal linux plugin, a standalone proggie with midi inputs?

How long before I can choose which channel (I use omni) can be used for track playback? I use GarageBand and cannot get some of my imported MIDIs to work without this pulldown menu option.

Any future possibility of a convolution reverb?

I can see where this thread might out to turn into a Sticky.

    Re: The ARIA engine thread

Convolution is already being used with Aria in the Steinway, so the answer is yes, to whether there could be convolution reverb. Convolution is very flexible so it has many applications - reverb is just one, though an important one!

You mean in the current build of Steinway?
The current version of SteinwayAU only respond to channel1, but it will be omni in the next build.

Im not sure i follow the question?

I don't see it. Or else I do not know where to find/choose/add the impulses.

You understood the question correctly. I do not have enough knowledge of MIDI terminology to make my question clear, but you got the gist, and this solution will work for me (and other GarageBand users) just fine.

    Re: The ARIA engine thread

I should have been a bit more specific. Convolution is being used in the Steinway for some of the dsp processes, but they aren't reverb. I think perhaps rightfully so, people associate convolution with reverb, but as I'd mentioned it's very flexible in what it can be used for. Currently we aren't using it for reverb in the Steinway, so you there's no impulses for you to load there.
