Thinking inside the box - Lyadov's "Music Box"

Hello, After hearing Yudit's beautiful Lyadov prelude, I looked into his music and found a miniature piano piece called the Music Box. I have sequenced this in Sonar with the GASP, using the under lid perspective. It is all played in the upper register of the keyboard and is all quantised, hence the titile. The two parts of the piece, though both quantised down to the last tic, sound very different. Enjoy this little piece by Anatoly Lyadov (1855-1914). John

What can one say other than "light hearted and delightful," with an impish sense of humor. Thanks for introducing me to Anatoly Lyadov. Somehow in all of my years of teaching, he managed to elude me.

Simple and elegant. Neither of which I do with the Ivory's.

Since this is a solo, any chance of centering it up a little, or am I just going deaf in my left ear? Could be either.

    Nice work

Thanks Steve and Ron, I appreciate your listening and commenting on this trifle. Ron, it isn't your ears, I just left the panning the way it was. Since this is all in the upper register, everything seems to be pretty much to the right. There is just a bit of it present in the left speaker, but not much. I will try to rework this and pull it to center. Thanks for the tip, John

    John:

Quick and charming. Great little piece and you
played it so well. Nice to hear a piano piece without
    a lot of pedalling.

What a delightful little miniature, John!

I love the "music box" idea -- and holding it in such
tight, strict time... very effective in bringing across
the mechanical feel that was intended.

    Nice job on this!

    My best,
