    Red face Orange Blossom Special

    Hi all,

Since 2 weeks I'm a proud owner of the Strad, after reading the manual I came up with this:

Can't get the sound of the OBS demo on Garritan's site though.....

That's some good pickin'. You have it in the original key of E, which is good because, for some reason, it doesn't sound "authentic" in any other key.

I would suggest that you lower most of the fiddle part by one octave. That way it won't sound so "screechy", which is a bit hard on the ears.

The actual sound of your banjo leaves a lot to be desired. It just doesn't sound realistic. May I suggest that you check out the amazing Front Porch Banjo at http://www.frontporchbanjo.com ? It's the one I use.

I invite you to the "Country" section of my music website at http://www.alexandermusic.com

Keep up the good work and welcome to the forum.

    Re: Orange Blossom Special

I've heard this piece more than a few times in my day. I grew up right down the street from where "Chubby" Wise retired in Florida. Never heard him play it in person and didn't see him out much, but his home was one of the first ones on the street we lived down so I passed it nearly every day. The tune got played quite a bit at the fair and such.

For a digital recreation, it ain't too bad a pickin' and fiddlin'. ;-)

    A warm welcome aboard, Pete!

    And what a ride. This is one heck of a good job, Pete;
loved it! I know that Strad, and I think you've done a
remarkably good turn at handling it, here.

    My best,

Welcome to the exiting world of Garritan's products and welcome to the forum as well.

This is easily one of my favorite fiddle pieces and always makes me want to get up and kick my feet around some and then take a draw from my XXX Jug.

    Well done

    Ron
