    Are windows error reports useful?

    Are windows error reports useful?

Say your Daw crashes and windows pops up with the error report
for it and you save the file for the devs to look at.

Will the information in the error report tell them why it crashed
or is the error file useless?

If you have the time to deal with this, yes, they can be usefull...sometimes:

If you're talking about "error reporting" as in Send and Error Report to MSFT
I just see it as an annoying popup that wastes my time.

    I always disable error reporting.

I thought Bill Gates was waiting at the other end ready to respond... I feel so used.

The minidump files that are created when getting a blue screen are very helpful. The only problem is that you need to have the Debugging Tools for Windows plus the symbol sets installed on a computer to use the minidump files. Usually the debugging tools will point you to the driver causing the crash.
