    GPO side-by-side to "Peril"

Peril is one of my favorite songs from the Halo 2 soundtrack, by Martin O'Donnell. Composer of such catchy jingles as "Mr. Clean gets rid of dirt and grime and grease in just a minute..." I like the soundtrack because it's very very original. One such example is Peril. Here is a sided by side comparison of GPO Peril (one that I did), and Martin O'Donnell Peril.

My apologies. Both links were the same. I've corrected that problem now.

I was surprised Martin O'Donell composed the Mr. Clean jingle. Quite a surprise actually.

Nevertheless, your rendering with GPO sample library sounds much better and the usage of pattern echoes (I assume) is brilliant.

thanks delta. i had to transcribe it by ear. but it wasn't hard because there's only like 5 notes. What I did was create different staff lines and panned them left-right-center. thanks again for the comment

I listened to both and must say I like your rendition much more. I think you did a fine job of rendering in this and I liked the example of how you got the echo. Cool

    Well done

You know, Ben, I do think I like your version better, too!

More subtlety to it... and I like the way you handled the
    sound on it.

I agree with the above, tubajedimr. Your mix is much more spacious. The body on the pizzicato strings is like night and day.

    Nice work.

My favorite game soundtracts have to be Halo and Final Fantasy.

EXCELLENT job. Really... Holy crap. Yours definitely sounds better.

    Ben,

Just really well done! I listened to your version first, after which the original sounded like an emulation of yours. The space and polish with which you created your version makes it, to me, the superior of the two. Great job!
