    Why Full Strings? [GPO]

What's the use of this? How applied?

I use the full strings if I want to quickly capture an idea without worrying about part division.

Later when I have time, I go back and split it all apart.

    Hi, Raymond!

Your question caught my eye, because I'm currently using the Full Strings in GPO.

I'm arranging a theatre score to be played by a small band. To get the kind of sound the producer wants, two of the 6 piece band will be keyboard players, constantly switching sounds throughout the show. One player, for instance, will primarily be switching between Brass and Strings. The "Full Strings" patch in GPO is the sort of generic MIDI Strings sound needed for a live performance situation like this.

And the GPO Full Strings is much nicer than most, because the instruments are spread out the way they are in an Orchestra, instead of just all coming equally from both speakers.
