    "Octet Number Two"

    All of Y'all,

    Here is my just-completed "Octet Number Two".

    The instrumentation consists of one each: trumpet, horn, tenor 'bone, tuba, flute, oboe, Bb clarinet and bassoon, mostly GPO and JABB.

    Long time no listen.

    An enjoyable, uplifting piece.

    An interesting ensemble, sort of a small band I guess.

    I caught the dissonance you tossed in.

    Dissonance is not my friend, but I use it from time to time to wake myself up.

    Thanks for listening and commenting, Mr. Phil.

    A very interesting and bright piece. After hearing loud obnoxious music while walking in the streets of New York City on my way home, this song made my day. Thanks for posting this!

    This forum just ain't what it used to be when I joined back in 2004.
    I'm not sure how this forum was back in 2004. But I assume it was very active back then.

    Ripping good brass work in this, Larry; as well as your
    characteristically fine handling of the woods.

    I'd say this is one of your best recordings, my friend;
    much enjoyed the piece.

    My best,

    David
