    A new consecration 08

I've updated this a bit and given it new instruments.
This is a piece dedicated to those casualties in all of "King George's"
Wars. BUT not political in nature.

    UPDATE SEPT 2
With a few edits, this is in the FINALE '09 now. The only ambiance I have found is a complicated table with a lot of dials that don't move.

Sounds great! Great dynamics and the instrumentations are spot on.

However there is one thing I would like to point out. It'll be preferable if you use reverb or utilize the free garritan ambient technology available here at garritan.com. It should make your pieces sound more realistic and performed in concert hall rather than a dry close mic recording session.

Other on that, I enjoyed your music.

    Best Regards,

    Thanks for listening, David.
Unfortunately for Mac Intel owners, ambiance is unavailable-and will not become available.
One can only assume that such an onerous task was beyond the developers ability.

Do you use notation program or a sequencer? Normally Mac users should have DirectX, which is free btw, which also have an array of free effects to choose from such as reverb.

I'd probably kill myself if I didn't have ambiance or reverb settings. Now of course I'm exaggerating.

    Hi David,
    I'm using FINALE '07.
    I haven't heard of DIRECTX
I was trip delayed today by poor weather in Atlanta, but I'm trying
    again tomorrow.

    Hi Gary,

With David (DeltaRomeo, that is, not myself... lol), I do agree
that this would benefit greatly from the addition of some "room".
It's a good piece, and it's a shame not to take that extra step
to bring out the best in it.

Gary, I'm not a Mac guy -- but I know there are many here
who are, and who must have solved this very same problem.
Perhaps a "Please Help Me With Mac Reverb" post in General
Discussion would bring you the benefit of their aid on this!

    Always my best,

    David

    Thanks for listening, David.
I just started Finale '09 and I heard that ambiance was available, but I haven't discovered it yet.

Nice dynamics and feel to this gary,
I agree with the reverb comments above, to bring the piece alive.

    Thanks for listening, Dan.
I entered a new version which I completed in FINALE 09. It's a bit better.

Cool stuff Gary. The variety in the lengths of call and responses between the sections keeps it interesting. I think the ending could have used a little more ensemble sound and been more definitive, but it sounds good!
