"Danielle's Theme"--- or---I'd like to take it down a little

    Hi, all:

I had put up a few pieces last month or so, GPO recordings that were "show-off" pieces (because I still find it so cool to imagine an entire symphony doing virtuosic work, and then create it using GPO, and be able to hear it). The response on the forum was nice to them.

I thought maybe I'd share something a little calmer that I also did with GPO. It's called "Danielle's Theme", a pastorale from a short film I scored last year. Here's a link:

I hope you all like it (let me know either way), and again, there are a lot more of my GPO pieces on my web site, www.glennfinnanscores.com.

    Hi Glenn,

Very beautiful string melodies! Enjoyed the "light" chromatic steps to tonic.
Very well thought out with plenty of breathing room for contemplation. Nice brass arrangement as well!

    Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully done, Glenn... a perfect fit for a lazy, lovely
summer afternoon I've spent largely gazing out the window.

I like the melodic work and flow in this. Perhaps you might
consider expanding this, taking it further -- there's certainly
lovely source material with which to say much more.

    My best,

Thanks, David and Michael, for the kind words.

Again, I will say how nice it is to have a program like Garritan to use, for when you have a piece in your head that you'd like to actually hear, but don't have the $$ sitting around to hire a 60-piece orchestra just to try it out.
