    Big Bossa

    Hi All,

The title I used on an early sketch of this song was ' Sea & Sand & Surf & Sun', which is probably more descriptive of its content, but at some point I opted for this not too clever play on words.

It uses all JABB, and is arranged for Trumpet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trombone, Electric Piano, Guitar, Bass, and Percussion.

    I hope you enjoy it.

    Regards,

    Jack

Nice bosso. Very dreamy and smooth.
Would have liked to have heard some more
    solos.

    Great job, Jack

    Jack,

This is a nice bossa piece, very pleasant to hear and relax, with good harmonies and a leisurely beat.

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed hearing it!

    Hi Jack,

Thanks very much for your comments. I agree - the piece is a bit too short. I guess I kind of ran out of steam. I'm going to work on it a bit more, and see if I can add some more material.

    Best Regards,

    Jack

    Hi Yudit,

Thanks for listening and for your kind comments. I was always impressed with the harmonic style of some of the Latin songwriters (like Jobim), so I guess I tried to emulate him as best I can.

    Best Regards,

    Jack

    Hi Jack,

among other stuff I've heard from you (website), this is really nice. Smooth, careful, a bit short, but as an evening breeze, relaxing.

    Make more of this,

    Raymond

I like the original title better as it seems to fit very well.

    Nice piece

It was a good one. Creates a nice mood and maintains interest.

    Good use of the instruments.

Thanks for listening, and for your comments.

If I get a revision done, I may change the name, Ron.

    Jack:
Well done. Melodically and harmonically it's right on. Well orchestrated.
    Some nit-picking:
As a trombonist, I would prefer your melody an octave higher. I also think you would get an even better feel if your claves' were in a typical two measure bossa pattern:
    [ 1--upbeat of 2--4 ][ 2--upbeat of 3 ](this would be a lot easier if i could attach a music file)

    Let's have some more,

    Steve
