    Englishgent finally posts something!

....but don't get toooo excited. It's less than a minute long.

It's more of a practice piece to try to hone my Home Studio recording skills. It's my performance of the Minuet from Handel's Firework Music.

Plus I feel bad that I've not been around the forum recently so I wanted to contribute something!

My dear fellow, a fine effort indeed! We could have done with this on Saturday night. Philippa and I attended a superb fireworks display in the harbour at Bristol (UK) - let down by some dreadful and inappropriate music. This would have been perfect for the job. Great rendering - and we will ofcourse look forward to more from Englishgent.

Thanks for posting, Owen - a real treat.

    From one to another, Graham

Sounds very authentic, old chap. It transported me back to the time when I was born.

Don't stay away so long, Britisher dude. Let us hear more from you.

Quite a fine job on this, Owen! Well rendered and
    well interpreted.

With buckshead, please do bring us more!

I'm fond of Handel, and hearing him done so well
    is always a pleasure.

    My best,

David, buckshead: Glad you both enjoyed it. I'll see what I can do about getting more done!

Dan: Thanks for the compliment! That means a lot coming from you. The score I was working from had trills in the violins only, not in the trumpets (which otherwise are in unison), so that's how I recorded it here.

Graham: So glad you enjoyed it! The last time I went to a fireworks display it was at Crystal Palace, London. The music there was very fine. Sorry your experience was less spectacular! Thanks so much for the compliments.

Larry: You're so funny! Thanks for listening and the kind comments. OK, I promise I'll be back sooner.

    Owen,

The trumpets really need the trills! Your score must be in error.

Thanks for posting and best wishes,
    John
