    High Quality Harpsichord

Could someone recommend a harpsichord (GIGA or KONTAKT format) that sounds good? I want one ideally that sounds like the one on Van Morrison's Cyprus Avenue!

    Thank you

    I've found this one:

The MP3s sound excellent, has anyone any experience ordering from this company, or knows of a better Harpsichord library?

    Thank you.

    MagicalPlug,
The demos for the other harpsichords on the realsamples site (the ones labeled "Edition Beurmann") sound excellent to me too. I think these are fairly new releases, as well. I don't own any of their products yet, but I've definitely been carefully considering these libraries, as they all sound top notch. I own the VSL Special Keyboards, which contains an excellent sounding harpsichord but also contains other keyboard instruments.

Don't know if it's what you're looking for, but you could try one of these:

(To get a specific sound from a real harpsichord depend very much on microphone placement and room characteristics. So by experimenting with various reverbs and such on these dry sampled harpsichords may get you a sound you like.)

My favourite at the moment is SampleTekk's Harpsichord. Nice and inexpensive.

I have this instrument too. I found that the audio quality is significantly improved if one sets the HQI mode (interpolation quality) to perfect in Kontakt.

    Pristine Harpsichord,
a french harpsichord manufactured by Zuckermann.
    1. Lower manual
    2. Upper manual
    3. Both manuals
    4. Both manuals + octave

For each note there are separate sustain & release triggers.
The volume of the release triggers (staccato without the attack) can be adjusted with the modulation wheel.
The four instruments are combined in one instrument named "Harpsichord complete" (keyswitches C0 - D#0)

Old, but very excellent. I usec this instrument since years and have not found a better one.

Originally in GS-format, but I translated it into Kontakt format and use it with Kontakt 3 too.

Where can I get hold of the Pristine Harpsichord? Is it still available to buy and if it not (i.e it's abandonware) could you get me a copy if possible?
