    Finale 2009

IS ANYONE MIFFED AT THE LOSS OF THE COPY TOOL IN '09?
The new copy method seems more like a shotgun than a rifle shot.
I guess I just hate change when it makes a process more complicated.
Anyone have a real explanation of how to make quick inserts in the music?

I'm not quite sure what you mean...
in what way has the copy method changed from Finale 2008 to Finale 2009?

Should Ctrl+C followed by Ctrl+V do the trick? Or you can click and drag measures.

Since you appear to have upgraded from an earlier version, please take the time to go through the "What's New In Finale" section of the help file. You'll make way too much work for yourself if you try to figure it out yourself. An hour or two with the documentation will help tremendously. You can also watch the QuickStart videos for tips.

Yes, Henry, it does the trick.

There are a lot of new things in Finale 2009, but I still can't
believe MakeMusic deposits "Recovered Files" in the Garbage
can on the Mac when closing Finale 2009. Seems like they
had these before, but I don't remember them in Finale 2008.

Of course, I'm not really a Finale authority as I use the program
for scratch notation, but it has some very nice methodology when
inputting and correcting notation, dynamics, and articulations.

Thanks for the posts. FINALE has a history for me of causing multiple
episodes of frustration because the "yellow brick road" is covered
    with brush.
I looked briefly at the What's new, but I didn/t see what apparantly is there.
I purchased 2008, but never opened it. I have been using a crash-prone 2007 for the last 2 years.

Finale 2008a is more stable than 2007. (many fixes).
But, if you didn't open your 2008, you should also see the "Whats new"-file for 2008. The new selection-tool came in 2008, and replaced the old Mass-Edit-tool. Maybe that is what you miss?

From ANY tool, just hit the ESC key and you will find yourself in the new "Selection tool".

This is a multi-purpose tool, which replaces the old Mass Edit tool.

From the Selection Tool, you can context menu (right click a selected item/measure) and choose a multitude of editing options.

JUST IN CASE you were wondering, a few of the tools which were previously related to the mass Edit menu have been moved to the new "Utilities" menu.
