    Death and Rebirth

    Hi all

My "Death and Rebirth" Symphony is finally finished!

I have made moderate changes to the first three movements (the biggest change being the first mvt. now ends in G minor which I feel is more structurally appropriate to the whole work).

    Of Body and Soul:

    Of Spirit and Compassion:

    Of Hope and Remembrance:

And finally the last movement is finished:

    Of Life and Purpose:

Obviously this represents a great deal of work (over 3 years). I began it soon after I returned to grad school. And now on the eve of pursuing my Ph.D. in composition its nice timing to have finally finished it. I do hope you enjoy it.

    Hello Matt,

Congratulations on this huge and very successful endeavor!

I listened to 'Of Life and Purpose' and was very impressed! Sounds so "classical" and "professional"! Extremely well crafted; every note, part, and theme well handled with purpose and precision. Your passion and academic mind speaks volumes within this work's cohesiveness and masterful longevity. Wonderful work!

I am sure you are happy with this and are rightfully so.

I know how long it can take to work out a project like this and for that alone you have every right to feel proud.

    Thanks for posting this.

Thanks all. I still just can't help but think that some parts could be better. The first two movements are so old that...well.. I'm thinking of rewriting them.

    Re: Hello all.

I've followed this symphony with interest throughout its
progress, and I've just listened to the completing movement,
Of Life and Purpose, Matthew. Many congratulations
on the fruition of this considerable undertaking... and
a great pleasure to listen to this beautifully orchestrated,
well structured, and well crafted composition.

    Bravo, my friend, bravo!

Forward and good speed with your doctoral studies!

    All the best,

    David Sosnowski
