    "Entr'acte/Room Service" -- Madhouse

The orchestrations are nearing completion. This is the last "big" song in the show to be orchestrated, with the remainder being either reprises or underscoring (Del Chaso Grande).

"Room Service" is the Act II opener, and is broken up throughout the scene (our reading brought the total scene length to around 16 minutes!). The breakdown is:

    0:00-0:53 = Entr'acte
    0:54-1:02 = Curtain up
    1:03-1:14 = Bad Steve's verse
1:15-1:16 = Vamp wherein Chandra enters and approaches Gatlin
    1:17-1:31 = Chandra's verse
1:32-1:34 = Second vamp, which stops when Gatlin yells
1:35 = Silence where a large section of dialogue takes place
1:36-2:00 = Reprise of "Casa Paris" as Gatlin frets over recent developments
2:01 = Silence where a little bit more dialogue takes place
2:02-2:18 = Reprise of middle of "Casa Paris" while Rose and Rupert (the head maid and bellhop, respectively) lament the state of affairs
2:19 = Silence where yet more dialogue takes place
2:20-2:30 = Underscore as Howard has a moment of enlightenment
2:31-2:33 = Vamp wherein Evelyn enters and slowly works up the courage to ring the bell on the front desk (screaming with terror when she finally does)
2:34-2:45 = Evelyn's verse, after which she exits
    2:46 = Silence where--surprise--more dialogue takes place
2:47-2:54 = Vamp wherein Chandra returns, demands that the key be changed, and decides not to sing at the present time
2:55 = The last silence of the scene
2:56-3:17 = Bad Steve (with Good Steve reluctantly in tow), Chandra, and Evelyn return to end out the song (and scene)

I included the xylophone to play the melody specifically for this; the part does not appear in the actual orchestration.

Cool! - People always amaze me when they write for the stage. It certainly takes a certain mind/culture to pull it off and you certainly have the knack. As you probably know, a moderator on here did a play last year which gave us all an appreciation for the stage and the music genre.

Wow, this is pretty neat. You have a musical almost complete.

I enjoyed the listen and spotted around with the other tunes.

I've been busy performing with a community group doing Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Tech week was a real work out and I was just in the chorus. Lots of standing. Our director hired the standard live orchestra which was also on stage. The pit was filled in.

    Good luck on this!
