    "OrganWerk"

    All,

This is my composition for organ and small orchestra, "OrganWerk".

Use caution with your volume. The organ samples, especially the pedal notes, are powerful and can give your speakers quite a workout!

All instruments are from the Garritan Personal Orchestra sample library.

    Regards,

    Larry Alexander

I think I recognise you, Larry, from the Composers Forum! Great piece -the organ is one powerful instrument. The organ part I thought was very baroque but the orchestration gave the composition a contemporary feel to it with a bit of fairground at the end for good measure. Lovely. Nigel.

    Re: "OrganWerk"

    Hi Larry,

I'm still catching up... and this one was a treat to catch up to!

This is one of the finer Alexander pieces in the "energetic" category; the organ and flute in tandem provided a perfect, quasi-"Beauty and the Beast" effect, at least to my ear. I also love a well-timed sudden key shift such as the one you put in about two-thirds through. You know how to keep the ear entertained and on its toes (can an ear have toes??? ). Some nice timpani work in there also.

Another on-target, well-crafted piece from the prolific master!

    Larry,

    Nice work. Good listening.

I didn't care for the interlude at the 3 minute mark to 3:18.

The section beginning at 03:00 is transitional and it also gives the organ dude a rest.

Many thanks for listening and commenting.

Well done and one of your best listens, Larry.

I'm tempted to say one might slather a little
more reverb on the organ part -- though I do
like the clarity of the rendering in general as
    it is now.

It's a quirk. I like to get to the party after everyone else has left...
