    no staccato?

    Hi folks
I have a question re staccato. No matter what settings I have tried every attempt at playing staccato on the Steinway results in a 1 second sustained sound (mid range) and an audible cutoff at it's end. The length of sustain increases as you move down the keyboard. Is this part of other discussions here? Or have I overlooked something in the settings? I have Sustain Resonance set to 0 and have tried zeroing out Sympathetic Resonance as well. No difference.

    Any ideas?

I don't know. May be your keyboard setting. On mine I can program the midi signal to add some reverb, chorus, etc. I tried this out and must admit that the damping on all perspectives can be better.

    Hi

I'm not sure how that is done. Can you describe? I just have the Steinway player window and no indication of how one loads 'no release" presets.

    Thanks

Yes I have tried adjusting the buffer in DP 6.01. This has had no effect.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Hi Raymond.
No, my keyboard is not contributing to this as far as I can tell. I have the keyboard volume zeroed so that all I hear is the Steinway.

Thank you Jon. I will give this a try this evening. I knew about these options, but for some reason it didn't TWIG that No Rel meant no release...Duuuhh.

Many thanks to one and all.

    Hi again

I tried the no rel presets and that has not solved the problem. I am familiar enough with a real Steinway D to know that this sounds like half pedaling. So far I am stumped and a bit frustrated that such a basic articulation as staccato appears impossible on the GASP. Of course this isn't true. I'm sure staccato is possible, but as I said, I'm stumped.
