    In a calm (Garritan Steinway)

Hi again. This piece has a different style compared with my first piece. In this case is an exploration to the "easy-listening" world with an intimate and impressionistic mood maintaining a retro style. I tried too to explore sonorities using Under the Lid perspective.

    (added later):

Here you can compare the sound using Stage perspective:

    Very well done, Mr. Keyboard.

A great set of progressions and a beautiful melody.
Comparing the "under the lid" with your last piano
solo, I hear this as more "brilliant" and somewhat
"percussive." Maybe it's the way you have your
dials set, but the last post was more mellow and
    rounder-sounding.

    Great performance

Hi Jack, thanks you for your words. That is true, the "Under the lid" sound have not the smooth quality that the ambient effect adds. In the next link you can hear a small section of the same piece with the "stage" perspective. Is not the same performance because i usually don´t sequence my work (i only play and record and that´s all in order to force me play clean) but is the same arrangement and the same character. The difference is obvius.

    You did it again!

    Lovely, delightful...

I think that your playing will sound great in any perspective you use...

    Beatuifully done, mrkeyboard... musically strong
in all regards, and a real pleasure to listen.

My personal preference on sound is the Stage
perspective you provided (though you might
bear in mind my background is more classical).

As a suggestion, I'd be very interested to hear
this also done on the Classic perspective. This
material has a certain lushness implied in it that
I think might take well to it.

    Well done!

    My best,

    Mr K

    This is another great piece!

How exactly are you composing these? Is this in a notation program, a sequencer or is this live via keyboard and thru the Steinway?

Sorry if you have stated this before, but my memory is fried today.

Thanks Yudit, Dan and David for your comments. Yudit, my language is spanish. I´m here practising my english too! (struggling in some ocasions...).

Thanks David for your words. I´m pleased that you liked it. I prefer too the perspective with natural reverb, the under the lid i think is useful mostly in live performances. Here, you can download the piece in classic perspective (is another perfomance too, with slight differences):

Hi Ron and thanks!. The third option is my method: i compose live via keyboard and thru the Steinway. I´m an academic and popular pianist and i like compose, arrange and improvise a lot playing myself. I don´t sequence because i prefer the natural touch, that adds the feeling exactly the way i want. Besides, i prefer make a mistake and record again from the beginnig instead of edit the piece, because in a live performance i can´t do that.
