The final three movements of my Requiem

Hi all, these are the last three movements of the Requiem I started after my mother died in July. They are not quite done, a few little things to fix and or endings to add, but those are minimal....

    As always, thanks for listening!

    mv 7: Agnus Dei http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6913760
    mv 8: Communion http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6913763

The first movement, for contrast with the last, which starts like the first, except in a major key:

Thanks Danial, for the kind words,

but I have to say, there are some other movements that have more modern aspects, (3 and 7 especially) and some which have aspects of gregorian chant... what can I say? I'm all over the place stylistically, which I guess is my "style" LOL! (so far)

The last movement seems to be more relaxed and more upbeat. Perhaps the realization that time does move on and all things pass?

A very fitting tribute to those who have come before us.

    Well done

Hi, it is finished... and downloadable for free if you want -- the complete Requiem is at: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6959331

It is about 34 minutes; 8 movements.

I still have not listed the entire text on that page -- coming soon, I hope.

Thanks to all who gave some of the movements a listen.

Frightening title of this message. I hope it is NOT your Requiem.
Downloaded the whole lot and later today I will listen to it. I am sure, I will be pleased and enjoy your music.

Re: The final three movements of my Requiem

    Karen,

Haven't had much time to listen, but I did manage to get to the last movement (kind of like reading the end of a mystery...). It is very moving, and quite lovely writing. The only downside is that you had to lose someone close to have the opportunity to write something like this. Still, I hope it had some healing and peace-giving effect(s).

I'll try and make it back for the other movements. But this one is quite beautiful.

    All three were beautiful.

I'm glad to see you are doing so much with your music.

    We need more women composers.
