IR for ambience and small rooms

I always found small rooms and ambience the toughest task for reverb plugins in contrast to the church like environments. As most of my pieces are acoustic music where I would like to have a more intimate atmosphere I´m looking for a good reccomendation for small room/ambience IRs to feed my convolution plugin (SIR). Any suggestions?

I would use a DSP based software or hardware unit for the elusive ER's. They require extreme calculations.
They also will enhance the sound of the larger IR as it carries the more realistic ER's into it's audio realm.
DSP reverbs have decades of developement and the more realistic your ER's sound, the better your results will be.
This sounds crazy but I use the GigaPulse pedal down IR on several acoustic instruments not just the Piano.
My acoustic and nylon Guitar sounds then get a splash of an IR or a DSP based verb and sound really sweet.

If memory serves right the producer of this IR library
provided IR's for both Chris Hein Horns libraries. Quite many of the IR's there I do like very much.

BTW: Great job you have done with the Horns 2. Among the best demos I have heard so far.

I haven't been here for more than half a year, but really feel the need to remark that there are some legal issues in the Halls of Fame vs Samplicity products. Half of this Halls of Fame product from BestService (the L96) entirely based on the concept of my L96 library, exactly the same folder structure, the same inclusion of some "variations", the same setup for Altiverb - also the nicknames L96 and T600 and quite some marketing texts were simply copied from my product (which had been kindly provided by myself, including long phone calls) to producer Wolfgang Lenden.

The first and last time I have ever helped someone wanting to produce a similar product as mine. I thought I was just helping him (he appeared not be really into the mathematics of IRs), but instead he was just copy-catting.

Luckily I can say that Wolfgangs files do not live up to my personal quality standards (mail me if you want details/comments - no PMs please).

I still cannot believe that people in this small business do things like this

At NAMM a new RI product specifically designed for small spaces was released. There are a set of Timbral Impulses (similar to Hollywood Impulses Responses but more powerful and flexible) and a new class of filters called TILT filters. Using a TILT filter in an insert above a small the Convolution insert (only Vienna Suite will work) can dramatically change the sound of the small space ambience. This "sound" cannot be duplicated with any current plugin in the marketplace.

I chose the Vienna Suite engine for several reasons but primarily because of the remarkable sound quality of the engine - one of the best if not the best sounding convolution engines currently available.

This new product is called Small Ensemble Reverb & Timbral Impulses (SERTI). Note that they do have separate ER and Tails (96KHz) and are all True Stereo. They work only with Vienna Suite. More information can be found at
