J.S. Bach Concerto for Organ - CMB Sax Octet

J.S. Bach composed the "Concerto for Organ" based on the Vivaldi Concerto for Two Violins. This three movement work is one of his finest works for organ in a concerto form. Here I have set it for saxophone octet (SSAATTBBs) using the CMB library.

This is one of my favorite Bach pieces. Thank you for remembering Bach. Haha. I'm not a huge fan of saxes, but most brass player aren't. A great arrangement though. Nice job.

    Enjoyed this very much, Gary.

While I might have taken the first movement a tad slower, the other two were spot on to my taste - and very pleasing in performance. The sax octet is well suited to this and provides a light and nibble touch which I'm sure both AV and JSB would have approved of!

    Thanks for sharing this.

    Regards, Graham

Glad that you enjoyed it. I picked the large saxophone choir because it has a good chance of actually being able to perform it as a transcription.

    Graham,

Glad that you enjoyed the music. It is a great work and lots of fun to transcribe. And the CMB saxophones work so well here.

Thanks for this wonderful concerto, Gary!

One never gets tired of Sebastian!

I have many old LP records of the famous Bach organ player, Daniel Chorzempa.

    Fred,

Thanks this is a most unusual work in itself. The CMB saxes did it proud.
