I am pleased to announce the winners for Jack's (Rhap2) Piano Competition. It was a fun contest and there were 19 people who entered - many of them excellent!
Listed below is the GRAND PRIZE winner and the two runners-up.
GRAND PRIZE: Paul Robbins for "Wall Street Hoedown"
(This entry was so unique, it broke a 3-way tie)
RUNNERS-UP: Louis Dekker (LouisD) for "Theme and Variations"
Anousone Kitisa for "Waltz" (in the style of Chopin)
Paul Robbins will receive an Authorized Steinway Professional library and Lous Dekker and Anousone Kitisa will receive a Basic version of the Authorized Steinway library. We're looking forward to hearing their entries re-rendered with the Steinway library.
Jack Cannon was a "Listener Award" winner for his helpful comments and attentiveness in the Listening Room. Jack already owned the library so he graciously offered his library to a worthy person "not able to purchase the Steinway for one reason or another, but would love to have one"
So Jack started a contest, posted it on the forum and dedicated his Garritan Authorized Steinway Piano to the winner of a "private" piano solo composition contest.
What a great idea! Jack was so generous and gracious and he let others share in his fortune. We need more people in the world like Jack.
Thanks so much Jack for doing this. Thanks to all those who entered and congratulations to the winners! Lets do this again some time.
All the best,
