Very Sad. I read about 11 pages and jumped to the 22 page? really? this thread has 22 pages? lol. And this is just one of many similar threads on countless forums. Not a very good look EW. If you really listened to your customer base you would realize Play is not working for the majority of users.

Please for the love of god, release Kontakt versions. Your loosing loyal customers daily, and potential new ones like me.

How long before you have non?

Your problem is most likely due to running Windows XP Pro SP2 with 3GB of RAM. (Search this forum for my previous posts on this subject.) Windows XP was not designed to work with more than 2GB. My understanding is that, although it is possible, it is tricky for developers to program for more than 2GB of RAM, so most of them don't or they don't do it well. All you need is for there to be a problem with one program on your machine to screw it up. I'm not sure if 64-bit Windows XP has the same problem. In any case, it's simple enough to test - just remove 1GB of RAM and see if your problems don't all go away.

This is just nonsense. Of course XP is designed to work with more than 2GB RAM.

    Well done Mart.

    A really useful post.

and here I was hoping to see some resolve (like Martin did, from SOL Europe, and Daryl and other people in here) in various problems. But then again there are posts like yours which make things... more interesting...

I'm Not kidding. since i replaced ministry of Rock by Penttinhouse and Scarbee Red bass, Drums By Dave Weckl ( ) , Ql Pianos by Ivory, and removed the ilok key from my system (i got some crash at the startup of cubase while scanning the plugins) , No more crash here !

    Nikolas,

It is a useful post. Marty solved his problem. Unfortunately it was a brute force method but now his machine runs great. Apparently the problem was MOR. Why should he pull out his hair trying to get Play to work if he's found substitute libraries that are stable? It's threads like this that have prevented me from upgrading any of my EW stuff or buying any new EW products. We all spend way too much time fighting hardware and software rather than composing. Seems to me the software that sounds the best AND ALSO runs the best will make the better music.

Please don't take any of this personally. I enjoy your posts and agree with a lot of what you say here and at EW's forum. If you were just kidding Marty, forgive me

    Respectfully,

Slightly OT... Anyone being following the Symphonic Choirs / Play debate at the EW forum ? SC was advertised for some time with a "free update to Play" (sold in a specific date range which I believe I also qualified for).

But this "free update" it now seems had some small print attached that meant if new content was added then the update would NOT be free. And you'll never guess ! EW will be adding some new content - some material out of VOTA - so the update will not be free for anyone.

Of course EW has explained that in fact the Play update is free, it's just that you'll need to pay for the new content.
