Question: Has anyone tried to run sampled piano on eeepc?

    Hello,
Has anyone tried to run sampled piano, like GalaxyII or Garritan Steinway, on eeepc like Asus eee PC 1000H?

Looks as though it only has 1 gig of RAM. Not enough for most libraries. I'm not sure of the hard drive speed. It would need to be 7200, while most laptops have 5400 drives. Might be wiser to go with a system that already had more RAM and a faster hard drive. (You may have to search for awhile to find a laptop with a fast hard drive, though. Most of them still come with the slower drive...)

Does it matter if you have a 5400rpm HDD inside the laptop if you use an external 7200rpm drive? or does it have to be 7200rpm everywhere?. I'm looking at a laptop myself to play VST instruments and noticed Garritan GPO4 recommends a 7200rpm drive, but I'm wondering if it only refers to the speed of the drive where the sample library is. Also, would you need a 2nd external 7200rpm HDD to record the audio to or can you record to and sample from the same 7200rpm external drive?
