Has anyone here purchased from PCAUDIOLABS?

I just did an install of a console at audioMIDI.com's HQ (in one of their demo rooms) and connected it to a PC Audio Labs rackmount machine (don't know the specs). I really like the way it's put together and configured. The machine you spec out looks like a real screamer.

I could not recommend them more highly. Thomas Bolton put my system together over 3 years ago and it's been a very solid system.

    It even runs PLAY

PCAudiolabs also has the best customer service I've ever experienced in any capacity. I'm a customer for life, no doubt.

    (I thought I posted another reply here...hmmm....)

Yeah, read the whole thread Q7...something got bumped loose in shipping to Jamaica, and Fred Rosenblum (who I've also worked with on a number of occasions) clearly refutes the claims about email. Call/email Thomas Bolton and you can't go wrong.

PCAudiolabs is rock solid. I stake my rep on it.

Any reason you're going for 2GB sticks of RAM and not 4GB sticks?

Re: Has anyone here purchased from PCAUDIOLABS?

I had PCAudioLabs build my DAW in July, 2005. I purchased the DAW, Tascam FW-1804, Cubase and Kontakt 2. See specs in my signature.

They built the PC, installed the software and tested before shipping. Not cheap at $3,563.00 but it's swell to have support when problems occur. Fred and Tom are always professional and helpful.

Last December my raid 0 stopped working. Likely cause - the sata cables weren't fitting properly. I shipped the drives back to the boys and as promised they recovered all the data successfully and also send replacement cables all at no further cost - except shipping, of coarse.

I'm likely to have them build my next one.

Re: Has anyone here purchased from PCAUDIOLABS?

Quick question: 3 7200 rpm drives? Wouldn't you want a few faster drives? I don't mind anything else in your setup (except what Daryl is asking, probably price wise?) but the non fast drives, would worry me...

I think that 7200 is fine for most things. I have no trouble with disc streaming, and I'm running a 17GB template (with 32GB installed). My bottleneck is the ASIO Performance. CPU and streaming are both fine.

RAID is more or less a waste of effort for a DAW, IMO.
