    Just Be Happy

This is a pop classical number. Just relax and listen.

It uses GPO, G. Steinway and ST2's fingered bass.

I did relax and listen - thank you!

It's melodies like this, charmingly simplistic, that allows the listener to carry it with them in a hum or whistle.

It's past my bedtime, so when I read this and then saw it was a pop classic, I put 2 and 2 together and got ready to listen to "Don't worry, Be Happy."

I was going to listen to it, even if it seemed like a weird one to do.

I am very happy it was not that one, although I am sure you would do it well.

This was more of a kick back and listen. Nice one to get me ready for bed.

    Well done

I wrote this when I was sick so it was sort of a pick-me-up effort.

I intended it as something to create a relaxing mood. Milk & cookies music.

Thank you for the good words.

    Phil -

This is a lovely piece. You mentioned that you wrote this when you were sick. What wonderful therapy! Writing such tunes can be quite therapeutic. For me, the listening was a pleasant and quite therapeutic after experiencing a busy and frustrating day earlier today. Nice writing.

This has fine easy-to-hum melody and a smooth arrangement. One is just happy to listen and let the music roll on.

    Well done.

Hi Phil, is very relaxing, it reminds me Carpenters style, it has a typical 70´s pop ballad feeling when the use of winds, pianos and strings was very usual.

I think it has a pop innocence to it allows you to accept it for what it is.

It does have a retro feel to it. I think the music structure is a little different though.

    I'm glad it relaxed you.

I think you hit it with the word "innocence", Phil --
so often characteristic of your work; but I don't
think I realized that until you mentioned it. There's
so often a guilelessness, an unaffected simplicity
    to your musical statements...

    Much enjoyed, my friend.

    Best,

    David
