    New Eyes Wide Shut Anaysis

There is a three part analysis of Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut available on YouTube.

It shows just how elaborate in symbolism this movie was and it explores in more detail what Kubrick was saying. Although one can dispute his conclusion about the subjects there is no denying the brilliance of his art.

Do to the very graphic nature of these videos I'll leave it to the more mature to locate them.

I don't see a video link in your post. BUT my initial take on this GREAT movie was that it is a study of how men are generally visually oriented and how women are generally verbally oriented. It also helps to have been married for awhile when you see this movie.

Kubrick was one of the very best.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

These videos contain several of the scenes at the mansion, uncensored, so I'm a little hesitant to create a direct link.

If you go to YouTube and search for Eyes Wide Shut Analysis, it should be at the top of the list.

I analysed myself after I saw it. It's not Kubrick's greatest film - let's put it like that.

That is exactly what Kubrick was up to in this film. He promised you erotic pleasure but what you saw was quite revolting and very disturbing.

The movie was designed from the ground up to hold a mirror up to the audience to show them how corrupted and decadent they had become. He had no intention of entertaining you in the least bit. This is probably the message he wanted to leave to the whole world and the movie business in general.

I'm awfully sorry - I meant to say 'I analyzed IT myself' - IT meaning the film.

...unless, of course, you weren't at it.

No problem then. Glad I didn't go.
