    Sky of the Nile

    Hi folks...

Here's a song from my collection of "Stories Across Time".

    SKY OF THE NILE

This song uses multiple ethnic instruments. As well as some normal western sounds; i.e. modern/synthetic.

Does anyone know where one might find a library/collection of high-end samples of this nature? I've looked around but didn't have much luck finding any. At least none that extensive.

Here is a list of the ethnic instruments used in this song:

Most of my other songs use instruments of this nature as well: Asian, East Indian, African, Latin, etc.. I would sure love to find/get a good library of these types of instruments if at all possible.

Here are some others i use:

Thanks for listening and any help anyone can offer.

BTW: It might be good to mention i have a bit of "minimalistic tendencies" in my style of writing.

    Link fixed.

Oops sorry rolifer, i tried to give a different link to it because their player seems to be not working atm. You'll have to download the file then. Sorry for the hassle. I'll have to find another place to host files.

Try Box.net. Lots of space, works well, free.

    I am using Box.net Richard...

OK sorry for the confusion folks. The editor didn't take the proper url it kept using the incorrect one.

I've now changed the url to the file in code-view mode so i know it's working now.

The link is in the original message above.

    Hey Mark 5!
    Welcome!

Very interesting work here. The playful rhythmic textures that slowly build and weave are close to hypnotic! Great introduction of instruments and melodies! The music has a very exotic and "traveled" quality. Excellent writing and production! Much enjoyed!

Nice work on this, Mark 5... rhythmic and entrancing,
with a well controlled build and perfect pacing.

You might also mention what Garritan instruments
were used in this, in addition to the others.

    Best,

Hi Mark. And welcome to this great community Really really groovy and seducing piece of work you did here.
I am very impressed of your ability to create big soundscapes.
It would indeed be very interesting to hear some of the instruments played/recorded live.

    I really enjoyed this. -Ari
