Topic: Is the Miroslav Philharmonik fake?

Is the Miroslav Philharmonik fake (in size) ?

I was wondering about the Philharmonik Orchestra. They say it's over 7gigabyte of samples, but i doubt that ever since I found out that it basically uses 1 sample pitches over a couple of keys.
It has a lot of patches and multis that are basically created using the inbuilt synth engine.
I find it hard to believe that with this and the fact that single instruments or sections would be fairly small, it seems unlikely tha the sample count would hit 7 gigabytes.

It appears to me that they might not only have made a lot of multipatches but also copied entire sampled-instruments into new patches such as the "Orchestral Elements" ( therefore fake increasing size).

If this is true, then Philharmonik is a shame!

Can somebody shed some light on wether Philharmonik is really 7gigabyte in size and how many samples it actually has?

    Very kind words.

No, the 7 gigs is legit. Yes, there is some sample stretching over several notes, but there are a LOT of sample sets. There are unlooped and looped versions of the samplesets, etc. There's just a lot of content, and the samples are probably 24-bit or something.

I'm not sure if you understood me there correctly. Maybe my formulation is just too poor.

I see that there is 7 Gigabyte of content, there is not the shadow of a doubt about it.

But is it 7 gigabytes of unique samples?

If multi performances or "elements" were not refering to the original instruments to mix them together, but rather copying them into a new patch this would create more files which are technically copies from the individuals instead of actual new and real recordings of real elements performing together.

Of course it's over 7 GB, just barely. (7,549,665,280 bytes)
Keep in mind it was ported over to a rompler that has limitations and not really suited for an orchestra library.

It's not really worth getting upset about.

Do you have the IK product or the original library? It's an old library put in an app more suited for the entry level orchestra user.

Yes it was Akai. I still have the original library. Thinking about pulling out after and giving it a whirl. Best, Joseph

You can still buy the libraries.
