    Spanish Lady

    Man, all this cold and snow has me stuck upstairs at my mothers in a little room with my DAW. It's finally starting to rain. I guess I was dreaming about a warmer climate and a beautiful and graceful woman on Christmas Eve when I wrote this one.

    I'm using the Garritan Steinway on this one.

    If it's more temperate climes you're dreaming of, Phil,
    you're certainly getting a nice, warm sound out of that
    Steinway... nice color to it.

    I think I might consider swinging the emphasis a
    little more strongly, rhythmically; more accented;
    to bring out the Spanish flavor of the material.

    Nice job on this, Phil.

    Best,

    I know what you mean. I was going to add percussion, ect but opted for just the piano and relaxing feel to it. I sent it to a pen pal woman friend that was stressed out from having her frail ninety year old mother at her home for the holidays so I was going for mellow.

    I'll take your advice redo it with more dynamics for a more authentic flavor.

    Thanks for the advice and kind words David.

    Hi Phil, That has a nice sound and feel, I like it lot. The middle part sounds a little rough to me though. But that main melody is very nice and kind of catchy. Nice work, thanks! John

    I know that middle part is sort of choppy. What I need to do is arrange it so there is more of a melody there instead of just basically jazzy piano chords. I posted this to mainly get some feed back about the basic structure because as usual I really have no idea what I'm doing.

    I'll probably arrange this and repost it.

    Thanks for the observation and nice words John.

    Another nice piano piece for mine ears! Very enjoyable, upbeat but not too much. Good stuff indeed.
