    They Came

Hi folks, sorry i haven't been around in awhile.
The holidays kept me busy and i'm now engulfed in my work.

I've however been piecing this one together for a couple weeks.
Finally got it to an acceptable state. Thought i'd share it while i have a spare minute or two.

    Hope you enjoy.
Feel free to put your own story to the title. I'm sure you'll get the gist when you hear the music.

    Gotta run!
I'll return soon to catch up on some listening.

Oh ya... this piece uses the GPO Steinway, brass and some strings.

hmmmm.......I wonder what this is about? It seems to spend several minutes building up to a big climax.....

Thanks for sharing this one, Mark. Don't work too hard, John

Nice work on this, Mark... propulsive and engaging with
clear lines and good use of strings and brass. I liked
the carefully and very well controlled energy in this as
it builds forward -- it keeps the listener right in the
    palm of your hand.

    Well done!

    My best,

I imagined an armada of Santas and flying reign deer converging on a town. The town is Christmatized and the Santas and flying reign deer are then sucked up into the night sky by a swirling storm.

    Exciting music!

Bravo Mark! I really enjoyed this. I especially liked the harmonic twists you took toward the end of the piece.

    Hi, Mark

Nice work on this cinematic piece of yours! Action/Adventure drive to it that works well--I enjoyed the aural emergence of the Piano. A texture-driven piece with your confidence shining through.

I enjoyed Phil's description about the armada of Santas!--hehe--he took his cue from the sleigh bells that were briefly in the piece about half way through.

Really neat stuff. I'm glad we had the chance to hear it!

Very nice piece, Mark, I liked it very much. I have to agree with the others that adding the piano halfway through worked quite well. Great work!

As others have said, a very driving piece and very
adaptable for cinematic use. Entering the piano
mid-way was nice surprise and very effective.

    Loved the percussion.

    Great writing here, Mark.
