    Trombones for 70's fusion style

    Hi,

I'm after some convincing (as far as possible) trombones for a Lalo Schiffrin-style, driving, fusion score. Its to fill out a section with samplemodeling trumpet, Chris Hein sop sax and VSL sax's.

Unfortunately, Sonivox BBB is out of the question right now.

Would the newly updated Project Sam trombones be ok here? Or something else?

    thanks for your thoughts.
    -Greg.

I'd look at Chris Hein Horns Vol.2 or maybe even the Wallander, although you'd have to buy the entire Wallander brass section since he no longer sells the sections individually. In a pinch, Garritan JABB would do, but they're not as bright and don't yet have the tonal flexibility of the other libraries ("Yet" - he says crossing fingers for ARIA engine). I'm also wondering if Samplemodeling is working on a trombone, too?

Thanks Paul - I was actually hoping you would reply!

I'll check out CH v.2. I've just got the new CH soprano sax, and its impressive I think, even though theres alot of features I havent had a chance to check out yet.

Yeah, I'm hoping samplemodeling will bring out a trombone soon. It makes sense - they could sell their brass as a whole section.

    Hi Gregory,

did you know that the CHH instruments are also available as individual downloads?
So, if you just need Trombones, you could just get the 6 Trombones section pack from CHH Vol.2
or the XL-Solo Trombone from CHH Vol.1 which has twice as much samples than Vol.2 instruments.
So, you just pay for what you need.

    Its all here:

If you can wait until March, there's the new Mojo from Vir2. It lists for $499.

I'm moving all data to a new server at the moment.
The shop will be available tomorrow again with improved download speed.
We had some problems with the downloads and found a solution.
From tomorrow the downloads will be faster and more secure.
So, (almost) good timing again. ;-)
