    "Star Trek: Federation One" Music

    Greetings, members!

It's been about a year or so since I've posted... good to be back!

I've just completed scoring a webisode of Star Trek: Federation One. The episode is called "Institutions".

You can hear the tracks on my website www.SteveGallant.com .

The instrumentation is 95% GPO. (In fact, almost ALL my stuff is done in GPO! Yeah!)

The film itself will be available on the Internet in the near future. (It's currently going through final mixing and mastering.) If you are interested in fan-produced "Star Trek", be sure to visit www.hiddenfrontier.com .

Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy!

Great to see you back in the neighborhood, Steve.

I listened through all the Trek tracks earlier today
(listening again, now) -- some excellent work in
these, I must say... strong, able cinematic writing that I'm
sure will add greatly to the professionalism and impact
    of the film.

I've been a Star Trek fan since... er, well, it's a long
time -- like since the very first episode on TV... lol.

When the 'net film comes out, I do hope you'll let
us all know in General Discussion -- I'm very much
    looking forward to seeing it!

    My best,

    David Sosnowski

    This sounds great!

I can't wait to see the movie. I am also a Trek fan (not a trekkie though, I won't dress up as a Klingon or learn the Vulcan language).

The music is excellent and very cinematic. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Good morning.

Very nice job. I can't wait to see the webisode.

I was curious if you wrote a main title theme. I have always loved the Main titles for all of the Star Trek series and films. Like I said, just curious.

Is this going to be an ongoing gig for you? I think that the genre suites you very well. Like stated before, it is very cinematic. You have nice moments of underscoring.

Did you sequence or notate? Basically, I'm trying to find out if people, other than myself, use Sibelius for film scoring around here.

Anyway, nice job and keep up the great work.

    Welcome back.

Hi, Jonny. Many thanks for your kind words.

I didn't write the main title music... it was composed by Daniel Chan, who seems to have quite a bit of experience with these fan-based webisodes.

I'm a sequencer (Cakewalk Pro Audio) composer . So far, in my "career", I've never had to output sheet music, so I haven't needed to move to a notation-based application like Sibelius.

This was my first gig for a web-based series... I hope they'll sign me up for more. Most of my experience so far has been for theatre (as can be deduced from my website.)

    Take care!

Very nice stuff Steve. I like the affective orchestration.
