    Last Battle

    "Last Battle"

I wrote this song in 2005 thinking of what I might do for the score of "King Kong." I like to play that game ever so often, although I have to admit the real scores are always better than mine.

It's the first song on the page.

    Hope you enjoy!

It sound like a good soundtrack though I'm not familiar with the music.

The trombones are pretty effective but might be a little loud as far as balance with the strings and orchestra.

    Good work!

I should clarify. I play a game sometimes where I look at an upcoming movie and think, "what would I compose if I were commissioned to make the soundtrack?"

This song came from thinking of Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005). It's an original piece.

    Hi, DKplan

Cool cinematic piece you have here - definitely see how you were thinking of "King Kong" when you wrote it.

And thanks also for clarifying what you meant in your original post. I thought you were saying you liked to play a video game version of "King Kong."

I hope you join in on the new version of the music scoring challenge over in General Discussion - The contest is being done with video clips now. It'd be a natural for you!

Nice brass, Daniel! I like the trombone at start.

I can imagine King Kong in the distance of your orchestral landscape.

I enjoyed this very much! Why not compose a little bit more to the score?

Hi Daniel and Welcome to the forum!

The brass and the percussion are effective in this. It would be interesting to see this developed....(hint, hint) John

    Daniel:

Really good depiction of a "grim" battle, but that's
the battles are. Liked the percussion and the less
surging middle part where the battle subsides for awhile,
then the action reappears for the conclusion.

I'm questioning the ending a bit. Seems kind of abrupt.
Maybe more time spent on a chord or percussion to make
the listener definitely aware that the piece is coming to
    an end.
