Ae Fond Kiss - remix In honor of Robt.Burns birthday

Sunday is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scotland's national poet
Robert Burns, so I wanted to share this new version of Ae Fond Kiss, one of his well-known verses.
My new friend Hippie graciously did the re-mix and mastering of this:

Very nice, 'Ears--just as wistful, haunting, and melodic as it should be!...makes me want to go grab a bowl of Haggis and a Guinness! Just like listening to "Thistle and Shamrock." Props to Hippie for the remix, too!

We may hit a Burns dinner or two--actually had some Haggis on New Years Day--wife's family has some scots blood.

    John

    This is a nice mix.

    Who makes the whistle?

I'm off to make me some haggis and then take a swim in the Loch.

    Well done

The low whistle and the squeezebox are from BelaDMedia's Celtic Winds collection, and they are beauties. Thanks for the listen Ron, John

To be honest, when I first listened to the first version, I didn't hear anything wrong with the mix. Now I think I can see what you were looking for - it needed a little more room. I really like what Hippie has done with this - the cellos seem to have more grit, the guitar is more up front, and the whole thing is wider and well-balanced. The tamborine shake at the end is amazing. It was always a great rendition. I have since listened to the YT one, and it's good and all, but a little slick for my taste.

    Bravo all over again!

Wow this sounds fantastic. I LOVE that woodwind. And the guitar is great too. Love it!

Bigears - very nice and celtic. (Oops, Welsh) Reminds me of the movie "Far and Away" with Tom Cruise - anyway, I love the mix of piano and violin against the celtic winds and 'squeezebox'. A very nice offering to a wonderful poet.

Maybe you could include the words so we might all enjoy the verse as we listen.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Bill
